Windows4 has been acting up lately with strange issues and we feel the problem exists with a shared application pool. Shared app pools save resources on the server but a disadvantage is that if someone crashes the app pool, thing end up being really funky. This server is a powerhouse and only uses 20% of the resources, so we took it to the next level.

To solve this, We just enabled the server to assign individual application pools to each user.  This way, if you crash your own website, you don’t affect the rest of the users on the server.

The process is currently setting up each pool right now.  Please let us know if it does something funny as we want to make sure it does not do it again for you.

Sincerely,

Travis Whidden

We just updated windows 3 with a new faster processor, and are doing a few other things to make it faster. It seems that the older server needed a little upgrade.  There will be a few restarts this morning, but the performance of your websites should increase quite a bit. --TW

The eagle migration begins today. Our newest server is called Dingo. I will post again when the Eagle migration is complete.

If you are using FrontPage server extentions on server Rhino, you may see they are not working correctly. This is because Plesk and apache no longer support FrontPage Extentions.  We recommend you upload your pages with FTP, and discountine use of FrontPage related items.

We are working to restore FP at this moment, but it requires us to move to as slighly older version of Apache, and we are testing it first before we make it live on this server. An update will be posted when FP is available.

Bart migration appears to be working great.  Rhino is performing great! Please email support@amhosting.com if you have any issues.

Bart is being disabled at this moment, and a slight disruption may occur while the IPs are being bound to the new server.  This process should only take 5 minutes.

We are migrating B17 into the Rhino server. This aggregation of accounts into one larger server will be more efficient and allow us to administer our servers in a more effective manner.

Please email support@amhosting.com if you have any problems.

The migration of the Mercury server to the Rhino server is complete. The migration went smooth save for a small routing issue, and there should be no problems.

Please contact support@amhosting.com if you have any issues to report.
